Every trilogy needs an ending. Across three seasons, MKDT Studio creative director Caroline Engelgaar has moved through the elements — sea, then sky. For spring–summer 2027, she comes down to earth, and Paloceras comes with her.
Paloceras eyewear features in Everyday Wow, the MKDT Studio SS27 show at Copenhagen Fashion Week, closing a three-season journey that now settles on groundedness: raw materials, an earth-toned palette, and draped, architectural silhouettes built by hand.
The frames come from our Nouvelle Fiction Sun collection, cut in acetates that mirror the collection's palette: mossy green, speckled havana, deep black, and a single note of vibrant red. Where Engelgaar works in silk blends, wool twill, linen hemp, and biogenic plant fibres developed with Danish artist Sara Martinsen, the eyewear answers in layered, hand-finished acetate — part of the tailoring, not an afterthought.
The kinship runs deeper than colour. Both houses believe a well-cut line needs nothing added to it, and both still finish every piece by hand.
"What I admire in MKDT Studio is how much architecture Caroline gets into a garment that still moves like fabric. Our frames chase that same balance, and when we placed them against the collection, they looked like they had always been part of it." — Mika Matikainen, Creative Director, Paloceras
"This season, we delve into the essence of the earth, its layers, movements and rich colours, to capture its enduring qualities in our garments." — Caroline Engelgaar, Creative Director, MKDT Studio
