Paris, June 25, 2026 – Two flavours arrived to Paris. For Rolf Ekroth's new collection Never Change, Ekroth has worked with Paloceras on two limited-edition versions of the Hydroceras frame, named Sour Apple and Cherry Cola.
The frames opened on the runway on Thursday 25 June, carry through the lookbook, and join the collection at the Sphere showroom in the Palais de Tokyo until 28 June.
Two Editions
The Hydroceras looks like liquid caught mid-motion, a wave held still. Ekroth keeps that frozen form and gives it two new colourways, each named for a flavour you already know.
Sour Apple is green on green, a deep green face over brighter temples, with a part-transparent chrome lens that catches the light like water.
Cherry Cola is the darker of the two, a near-black chocolate face with pink temples and a smoke-grey lens.
Both are made entirely in Helsinki and finished by hand, down to the last detail. The fronts are polished to a soft glow, the temples left frosted for contrast.
A Shared Language
Ekroth and Paloceras share Finnish roots and a fondness for the slightly off. The point was never to make the loudest thing on the runway. It was to make eyewear that belongs to Never Change, the touch that completes a look the styling has already built.
“There’s something explosive about these frames, as if they had landed on your face from another decade. I love them,” said Rolf Ekroth.
“Rolf understood the Hydroceras right away. We poured his colours into it and the frame did the rest,” said Mika Matikainen, co-founder and creative director of Paloceras.
